SWEET KISS is a very cute, clean story. Tappe and Kate have been friends since they were six years old. They haven’t seen each other for a long time as Kate stayed in town but Tappe was living over seas. Now Tappe is back in Little Heron Shores Florida and buys a marina with his dad. Kate runs a local coffee shop and is doing really well for herself. Tappe is thrilled to learn she is still there but saddened when he learns she is engaged to someone else.
Tappe would love to have a second chance with Kate. When he learns that her being engaged is just a big misunderstanding he can’t wait to start all over again. But Kate has other more pressing issues. Violet, her sister, wants to sell their inheritance as she is deeply in debt due to her deadbeat husband. Kate wants to keep the house and live there, but Violet is having none of it. Plus, the post mistress, Eva May Poole is trying to run Kate out of town as she wants Tappe for herself.
SWEET KISS is a funny and sweet novella. I was giggling and smiling the whole time I was reading. Kate has never forgotten her first love and Tappe hasn’t either. The story is very well written and hooked me from the very first page. My only complaint is that when I was done reading, I was sad that it was over. I was just getting to know Tappe and Kate and wanted to learn more about them. I can’t wait to read more by Judy Ann Davis. Even though this tale was short and sweet it really held my interest.
