ASHES TO INK had me in tears a number of times. Abby had lost the “love of her life” but had her daughter to care for. Now living in Colorado Springs next to the Montgomery family she is starting over.
Ryan is the new tattoo artist but he has secrets he is trying to keep to himself. He has a twin, who is a mess and causes him troubles every once in awhile. But he isn’t ready to talk about him or the problems he has caused. Until Abby … until the brother threatens the one woman Ryan is starting to feel close to.
Friends to lovers is always a great read and ASHES TO INK is filled with this emotional driven scenario. Abby has her child and thought she lost her heart until Ryan and when she thinks she can move on, still with a piece of her heart belonging to the father of her child, the brother makes Ryan feel he doesn’t deserve her. This is where I had a problem with this book. Ryan had tried to help the brother but to no avail. To my mind, if you have done all you can to help someone, for your own sanity, ties must be cut. Tough love is tough.
I have to say this one really tugged at my heartstrings, with loss of love, fear of the future, worry about the past – all things that friends and lovers are suppose to help you with and the Montgomery clan is amazingly helpful in all the books that Ms. Ryan gives us.
Just a note of warning . . . keep the tissues handy, but know this is another keeper.

Derek Hawkins and Olivia Madison have spent four years meeting once a month, known only to each other by their first initial. No other information is allowed. Everything seems just fine until D doesn’t want to be D anymore, he wants to be Derek and he wants to share his growing feelings for O. Olivia’s past just won’t let her go, won’t let her fall for Derek, won’t let her tell him the truth.
Wow! If you have read any of author Carrie Ann Ryan’s Montgomery books then you have met Derek who works as a tattoo artist for Austin Montgomery. I was hoping for his book and this one is perfect for him. Olivia is a woman who had a traumatic event in her life and seemed to be only living a half life, holding herself back. So the once a month anonymous affair was perfect. Derek felt otherwise and for awhile I worried that his heart would get broken, but I should have known Ms. Ryan would make it all work out.
Interesting set up, wonderful dialogue, steamy that will have you fanning yourself, yet there is a sweetness that will have you sighing. Another great offering from this author.

WHISKEY REVEALS will not let you put it down!!
I love this quaint homey little town and the family is amazing. The romance between Fox and Melody might have started out as a once and done but that isn’t what fate wants to offer them. She came to town to settle down, become a dance teacher and try to live with the past that haunts her. A past that cost her a dance career as a ballerina. But it was the friends she went to Juilliard School of Performing Arts with that in one drunken night lost that haunts her the most. Then a stalker, who knows her past won’t let her move on, but seems determined to make her pay, comes out of the woodwork and Melody has only one person to turn to. Fox – the one man who will do whatever he must to protect her.
I enjoyed following along as this couple, who managed to do things a little backwards, begin to learn about each other and fall in love. The sexual tension between these two is, of course, off the charts as author Carrie Ann Ryan loves to give her readers. But I found the sweetness of them getting to know each other and learn to trust what really drew me into the storyline.
If you want sweet and steamy romance, with hints of danger, family and friends in the feel of a small town then get your hands on WHISKEY REVEAL right away!

Walker Brentwood is a healer for his pack but there is nothing he can do about the changes in the mating bonds. Shifters have always “known” their mate by scent or sight but that has changed. They struggle now just as the humans search for love and sometimes get it right.
Aimee Reagan knows shifters and magic are real, but she isn’t sure about herself. She knows something is wrong but not what and when someone other than a Talon Pack member sets his sights on her, her battle to survive begins in earnest.
Walker and Aimee are what I have been waiting for in this fascinating series. Their story is truly magical and one that stays with you long after “the end “appears. I love this series with it’s twists and turns as the packs deal with daily life and with things beyond their control. There is a number of moments that will have you smiling, laughing and just might bring you to tears.
We also get a better look at the enemy pack and their Alpha, Blade. I am so hoping he gets his soon.
If you want a heart touching, scorching with steamy moments, family and friends that have the couples back then get your hands on ETERNAL MOURNING.
When Holly Parrish mistakes Micah Ravenwood for someone else, her life takes on a dramatic and unforeseen turn. She finds herself in the midst of TWILIGHT DREAMS where vampires exist and this gorgeous man is one of them
Micah is a vampire who has survived thanks to the help of a close friend Rylan Saintcrow, a very ancient vampire. Micah remembers much of his humanity, he still has his family, who don’t know what he has become and now he has the beginning of a sweet romance going with a lovely woman.
Too bad another ancient vampire is hunting his friend and pulling him into danger and by his involvement with Holly she is a target too. Unfortunately, Holly doesn’t have time to adjust to the new world she had been thrown into making things very uncomfortable and very worrisome. Holly has to decide if she is still sane and if she could possibly love a vampire … he’s gorgeous and sweet but … he’s dead.
Author Amanda Ashley taking us into her amazing world of vampires with another sexy, intriguing read in TWILIGHT DREAMS. Micah’s story is touching and makes you understand his reluctance in falling for Holly, having buried a past human lover. Holly is feisty, though there were a few times that I found her irritating, but then again I haven’t found out the guy I was falling in love with is a vampire. Not sure how I would handle that either. I loved that when Micah realizes that Holly is in danger his first thought is her protection and the safest place he could think of is the town he had left behind, protected by the most powerful vampire he knows. It was also very interesting that Micah’s “human” family didn’t have any idea of his being a vampire and the danger they face that forces him to admit to the truth. I loved his mother’s reaction and as a Mom myself can totally understand her.
TWILIGHT DREAMS is the sequel to “As Twilight Falls” where we met Rylan and Kadie and in this book we have time to learn more about their lives while Holly works through her worries and fears. Micah also has a few things to think over too and of course we get some very steamy moments while they are both thinking. I have never been disappointed in any of Ms. Ashley’s books and this one is right up there with the others.
Quick note: This is a book I reviewed originally for Fresh Fiction in 2015 but this re-release has been added to for Ms. Ashley’s new publisher. If you enjoyed the first go around with the added scenes and time it is even better. Can’t wait to see what comes next.
